An Automotive Legend

JM Family Enterprises

Automotive legend Jim Moran first established Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET) in 1968 in Pompano Beach. As SET expanded, he moved his headquarters in 1981 to Deerfield Beach in the building above located at the corner of Hillsboro Boulevard and NW 12th Avenue.

Jim Moran later established JM Family Enterprises as the parent company for SET – the world’s largest distributor of Toyotas. JM Family has since grown into one of the most innovative and diversified companies in the automotive industry.

Its principal businesses focus on vehicle distribution and processing, finance and insurance, retail vehicle sales and dealer technology services. In 2002, the City of Deerfield Beach honored Jim Moran’s lifetime of business achievements and community service by renaming NW 12th Avenue to Jim Moran Boulevard.

Today, more than 1,200 associates occupy eleven buildings on JM Family’s Deerfield Beach campus, including four rooftop solar arrays that produce on average 500,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
